Requirements & Details for Teaching at Surprise Tangle
Details
Even though you are not getting paid for your 90 minute class, you will be getting lots of exposure and our hope is that you will pick up more students for your own classes.
Classes are 90 minutes long, but the teaching part is really only around an hour or so. In the beginning the host (Jacki Rose) will have opening remarks, announce the instructor and do a quick meditation (unless you want to do that), and at the end we save time (5-15 mins) for mosaic, group discussion and closing remarks.
All classes are geared towards all levels. Easy enough for the beginner, interesting enough for the seasoned tangler. Please only use the basic supplies: Micron 01 Black Pen, Pencil, Tortillion and white paper (tiles or sketchbook).
Requirements
You must be a CZT (Certified Zentangle Teacher)
You should have some experience teaching on Zoom.
You are okay with your class being recorded.
You have a doc cam (or something that acts as one) for viewing your drawing on Zoom.
You have good internet access and sound so that you come across clear when teaching.
As a Surprise Tangle Instructor, you won't post your class on any facebook pages other than your own prior to your class*. However, you may announce it through your own newsletter to your current students & friends by sending them the link to register. *Note - this is only for 2024. In 2025 we will be announcing instructors ahead of time so posting will be fine prior to class.
Appreciation & Promotion
You agree to teach as a volunteer without monetary compensation.
You get to promote your Zentangle business, upcoming classes, etc.
Your website and/or facebook page along with your name will be posted on the Rejuventangle website after the class is taught.
You will be recognized in the Rejuventangle Newsletter (over 500 Tanglers) in the Florida Zentangle Facebook Group and possibly some other facebook groups.
Fees
Students pay $18 per 90 minute class (this may change in 2025 to $22/2 hour class).
The money goes towards registration processing fees, website fees and Zoom fees.
It also goes towards the time and energy it takes to keep the website updated with classes, sending out newsletter announcements, posting on facebook pages, handling promotion, registrations and other responsibilities that goes along with organizing these events.
